Fatemeh Ziaii is still held in detention in Evin’s Cellblock 209.
Ms. Ziaii, 56, a former political prisoner from 1981 – 1986, was arrested along with her husband, Mr. Mahmoud Azimi, in October this year. Mr. Azimi has been released on bail, but Ms. Ziaii continues to remain in jail.
She had been arrested twice before: once in January 2009 for attempting to visit her daughters in Camp Ashraf, Iraq, and imprisoned two years before being released on heavy bail. Another time was in June 2013 but she was released in October that year due to serious illness and suffering from MS.
