Iran: Parents of political detainees violently arrested

A group human rights activists who rally every Saturday outside Tehran’s notorious Evin Prison, were violently arrested this morning, November 21, 2015, by state-backed hoodlums.

Those arrested include the mother of political prisoner Omid Alishenas, father of 16-year-missing student Saeed Zeinali and a number of students of the imprisoned teacher Dr. Mohammad Ali Taheri, but the exact number and names of those arrested is not known.

No information is available on the fate and whereabouts of those arrested.

NCRI Women Committee

We work extensively with Iranian women outside the country and maintain a permanent contact with women inside Iran. The Women’s Committee is actively involved with many women’s rights organizations and NGO’s and the Iranian diaspora.
The committee is a major source of much of the information received from inside Iran with regards to women. Attending UN Human Rights Council meetings and other international or regional conferences on women’s issues and engaging in a relentless battle against the Iranian regime’s misogyny are part of the activities of members and associates of the committee.
