Ms. Simin Ayvaz-zadeh and two other women have started a hunger strike at Varamin’s Qarchak Prison.
Ms. Ayvaz-zadeh is the mother of political prisoner Omid Alishenass,
who was arrested Saturday for protesting to the detention of her son outside Tehran’s Evin Prison.
The two other women whose names were not mentioned were also arrested on Saturday, November 21, 2015. They protested the arrest and detention of their professor, Dr. Mohammad Ali Taheri, who has been arrested for his different beliefs.
The women arrested on Saturday have been taken to the notorious Qarchak Prison in Varamin where hundreds of women are detained in inhumane conditions without access to outside world.
We call on human and women’s rights organizations to express their protests and take action to free Ms. Ayvaz-zadeh and other women imprisoned in Qarchak for exercising their freedom of expression.
