A woman from Tehran by the name of Roghiyeh Shahbazi suffered from intestinal infection and lost her life as a number of hospitals refused to provide her medical care.
This defenseless woman was transferred to four different hospitals after a car accident. As they all refused to accept her, she eventually lost her life early Wednesday morning, 18 November.
“Mother suffered a car accident on 23 October and she was taken to Haft-e Teer Hospital. When I reached the hospital I asked to transfer her to another hospital; however, the hospital officials said she cannot be transferred and placed her under surgery there. After the operation, Mother suffered from intestinal infection. I took her to Sasan Hospital where they refused to accept her and I was forced to take her to the Sourna Hospital. They, too, refused to accept her and carry out the surgery; they didn’t even pull out the stitches of the last surgery. As a result, the infection spread from her intestines to her kidney and she suffered a heart attack this morning,” said Roghiyeh Shahbazi’s daughter.
