Following the imposition of new and harsh regulations by the police in Iran, as of today, if the police see women in vehicles and in their opinion are not abiding by clothing regulations, they will first be warned and then fined. Furthermore, they will be also banned from purchasing or selling their vehicles.
Additionally, police officials have said undercover agents affiliated to the police can record license plate numbers of those vehicles whose passengers are not abiding by the strict regulations. The license plate numbers will then be presented to the police.
Last week, the response provided by Rouhani, the Iranian regime’s president to a French television station on mandatory headscarves gained a lot of attention. Before his planned visit to France, the reporter showed Rouhani an image of a Facebook campaign and asked him about clothing regulations in Iran. Rouhani responded that there are “more important problems!” in his government, and in the meantime, he said the citizens of each country must abide by the country’s laws, referring to clothing regulations in the mullahs’ laws.
