Iran: Closed circuit cameras control female employees of kindergartens

In the guise of monitoring kindergartens for child abuse, the state-run welfare organization is installing closed-circuit cameras in 8200 kindergartens in cities across the country.

Habibollah Massoudi Farid told Mehr news agency that parents are not allowed to see the recorded tapes, unless they are “informed by their children” of any abuse. Only then, they can view the recorded tape in that hour!

Installation of closed-circuit cameras, which follows installation of closed-circuit cameras in all Iranian universities and all streets, bridges and cross sections to monitor anti-government activities, was started last year and will be finished by the end of this school year.  (state-run Mehr news agency, Aug. 26, 2015)

NCRI Women Committee

We work extensively with Iranian women outside the country and maintain a permanent contact with women inside Iran. The Women’s Committee is actively involved with many women’s rights organizations and NGO’s and the Iranian diaspora.
The committee is a major source of much of the information received from inside Iran with regards to women. Attending UN Human Rights Council meetings and other international or regional conferences on women’s issues and engaging in a relentless battle against the Iranian regime’s misogyny are part of the activities of members and associates of the committee.
