It is the third week that human rights advocates have staged a sit-in outside Evin Prison with one request: Release Narges Mohammadi!
Mrs. Mohammadi, Vice President and spokesperson of the Center of Human Rights Advocates, was arrested on 21 April in Zanjan and transferred to Evin Prison. Afterwards, Taghi Rahmani, Mohammadi’s husband, reported on 29 July that Tehran’s prosecutor office and Evin authorities are resorting to inhumane measures against his wife and she is currently suffering from embolism and muscle paralysis.
Mrs. Mohammadi was transferred to hospital late at night on 1 August after suffering from muscle paralysis for 8 hours. However, despite the fact that hospital physicians insisted she must remain under supervision of a medical specialist, judicial authorities had her returned to prison two hours before her weekly meeting. She is currently in dire physical conditions.
