Following four days of protest by pre-school and daily-contract teachers outside the mullahs’ parliament, Majlis deputies discussed and ratified the general guidelines for employment of these teachers on Wednesday, August 19.
The teachers who had staged a four-day sit-in said the victory is the outcome of their steadfastness and unity in demanding their rights. Most of the pre-school and daily-contract teachers are young women. They spent the nights outside the Majlis and did not leave the sit-in area until their gain their rights.
