A group of graduates and teachers in Iran protested flagrant discrimination between men and women regarding Education Ministry exams. These tests will be held on September 18 when 3,703 individuals will be allowed to participate. However, 3,073 will be allocated to men and only 630 places will be given to women.
Prior to this Rouhani’s Education Minister had protested the vast number of female teachers and said he is considering to hire more male teachers to change the balance of men and women.

We work extensively with Iranian women outside the country and maintain a permanent contact with women inside Iran. The Women’s Committee is actively involved with many women’s rights organizations and NGO’s and the Iranian diaspora.
The committee is a major source of much of the information received from inside Iran with regards to women. Attending UN Human Rights Council meetings and other international or regional conferences on women’s issues and engaging in a relentless battle against the Iranian regime’s misogyny are part of the activities of members and associates of the committee.
