Young women committing suicide through self-immolation due to poverty and various pressures in life has become a troubling continuing trend in Iran these days. Two young women committed suicide through self-immolation and lost their lives in the cities of Mariwan and Ashnawiyeh. The young woman who died in Mariwan was named Fatemeh. She committed suicide due to poverty and not being able to make ends meet.
Another young woman, aged 25 in Ashnawiyeh also committed suicide. She died a few days after due to the severity of her wounds.
