The NCRI Women’s Committee Monthly Report, February-March 2020 has a glance on the Iranian regime’s treacherous policy towards the people of Iran by covering up the scale of the coronavirus outbreak in the country for a month before starting to inform the public.
The regime also refused to quarantine and lockdown the epicenter of the virus, Qom. It also continued its flights back and forth to China and did not stop travel abroad by Iranian citizens despite the outbreak. In this way, the Iranian regime helped spread the virus throughout the country and even abroad.
The aid provided by the World Health Organization and other countries were hoarded by the IRGC or used only in IRGC special hospitals. Some part was also sold in black markets at inflated prices.
The conditions of physicians, nurses and hospital staff are cause of grave concern. Most physicians and nurses face shortage of full protective equipment, including gowns, N95 masks, gloves, disinfectants, etc.
A nurse in Iran:
Unfortunately, we have very little equipment. The gown I’m wearing is not adequate, at all. In every shift, I must give a new mask to my patient. I must give a mask and gloves to his companion. Unfortunately, gowns and personal protective equipment are very scarce.
Just now, a gentleman came asking for a cap. I told him we did not have any.

A massive humanitarian catastrophe is underway in Iran
The pace of spread of coronavirus outbreak has been higher in Iran than in any other place in the world. The proportion of deaths to the total number of cases in Iran is considerably higher.
Estimates indicate that more than 2 million Iranians have been infected by Coronavirus.
More than 100 physicians, nurses and medical staff including many women have lost their lives to the coronavirus outbreak, so far.
