Born on the island of Rethymno in Crete and educated in France, Kalliroi Parren returned to Greece with a mission: to modernize women’s lives and secure their place in the nation’s civic future.
Parren’s groundbreaking influence began with the launch of the Ladies’ Journalin 1887, the first newspaper in Greece written by and for women.
