Mina Sadoughi, 41, Executed in Shiraz Central Prison

Mina Sadoughi, 41, Executed in Shiraz Central Prison

November 27, 2025
in Women's News

On Wednesday morning, November 26, 2025, the death sentence of Mina Sadoughi, a 41-year-old woman held in Shiraz Central Prison, was carried out along with her husband.

The couple, originally from Mohammadshahr in Karaj, had previously been sentenced to death on charges related to drug offenses. They leave behind three children, aged 7, 9, and 11.

The execution was conducted without prior notification to the family or the couple’s lawyer, placing the case among Iran’s growing list of secret executions. Mina Sadoughi and her husband were also denied a final visit with their children and relatives.

As of now, no state media outlet or official source in Iran has acknowledged or confirmed the executions.

With the execution of Mina Sadoughi in Shiraz Central Prison, the number of women executed in Iran since the beginning of 2025 has reached 55, marking an unprecedented record in the execution of women in Iran.

In the entire 2024, 34 women were executed across the country.

Iran, the world record holder in executing women

According to data recorded by the Women’s Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, at least 318 women have been executed in Iran since 2007.

Many of the women executed by the Iranian regime are themselves victims of domestic violence and discriminatory family laws. A significant number have acted in self-defense.

In the Iranian calendar Year 1403, at least 38 women were executed in Iran, marking a disturbing 90% increase compared to the previous year.

Silence and inaction in the face of the murderers of the Iranian people fuel terrorism, suppression, and warmongering. The regime of execution and terror must be shunned by the international community, and its dossier of human rights violations must be referred to the United Nations Security Council.

ABOUT US

NCRI Women Committee

We work extensively with Iranian women outside the country and maintain a permanent contact with women inside Iran. The Women’s Committee is actively involved with many women’s rights organizations and NGO’s and the Iranian diaspora.
The committee is a major source of much of the information received from inside Iran with regards to women. Attending UN Human Rights Council meetings and other international or regional conferences on women’s issues and engaging in a relentless battle against the Iranian regime’s misogyny are part of the activities of members and associates of the committee.
