On Monday, October 13, 2025, Kowkab Badaghi, a teachers’ rights activist in the city of Izeh, was subjected to a violent raid by security forces.
Nine plainclothes agents affiliated with the IRGC Intelligence Organization of Khuzestan Province climbed over the wall of her home and violently brutalized Kowkab Badaghi and her husband in front of their young child.
Reports indicate that both are in poor physical condition. A photo circulated on social media shows visible signs of beating and injury on her husband’s body.
The agents searched the house and confiscated the family’s electronic devices, including Kowkab Badaghi’s personal belongings.

Kowkab Badaghi is a physical education teacher and a well-known educator in Izeh. She had previously been sentenced by the Administrative Violations Board to four months of suspension from service, effectively barring her from teaching for a year.
Following that decision, Kowkab Badaghi wrote:
“We are not servants of any institution; we are the nurturers of a free-minded generation striving for the dignity of our homeland. The unjust referees blow their whistles to silence us, unaware that each whistle only amplifies our cry. We stand to protect the honor passed down through generations. In the end, it is the people who will deliver the red card of history.”
