Security forces of the Iranian regime raided the home of a Baloch family in the Golshahr district of Chabahar and arrested a 21-year-old woman, Reyhaneh Irandegani in lieu of her brother. Relatives have explicitly described the act as “hostage-taking.”
According to local sources, the operation was carried out with a heavy security presence, including the use of drones. While her brother was not at home, security forces detained Reyhaneh Irandegani without presenting any judicial warrant or providing any explanation and subsequently transferred her to an undisclosed location.
The family has stated that they have received no information regarding the authority that detained her, her whereabouts, or any potential charges. They believe her arrest is solely intended to pressure her brother into surrendering himself, an act they regard as a clear case of state-sponsored hostage-taking.
Expressing deep concern for Reyhaneh’s fate, the Irandegani family has called for immediate transparency regarding her situation and demanded her unconditional release.
