Hossniyeh Kolkoli, a 41-year-old Baloch teacher and mother of four, has died after being critically wounded by gunfire from plainclothes agents in the southeastern city of Iranshahr. After six days in a coma in the intensive care unit of Khatam-ol-Anbia Hospital, she succumbed to her injuries.
The incident occurred on the evening of Thursday, June 19, 2025, near the Army Town roundabout in Iranshahr. Plainclothes agents, reportedly pursuing a Peugeot Pars vehicle, opened fire without warning or justification, fatally striking Hossniyeh Kolkoli, who was uninvolved.
The bullets caused severe internal damage, leading to the immediate removal of her kidney and spleen in emergency surgery. A second operation followed to control internal bleeding, involving extensive abdominal sutures.
Doctors had rated her level of consciousness at 4 on the Glasgow Coma Scale—a critical condition that eventually deteriorated due to internal infection and extreme hypotension. Despite her grave condition, no security, judicial, or government agency has taken responsibility for the shooting, nor have they followed up on her treatment or condition.
Eyewitnesses say the assailants fled the scene immediately after the shooting. As she was being rushed to the hospital, they left the area without offering any explanation. According to her relatives, doctors had warned on Saturday that only a miracle could save her life.
Hossniyeh Kolkoli was a dedicated educator at Hazrat Soleiman Elementary School in the impoverished village of Surap, near Iranshahr. She had long worked tirelessly to teach children in underprivileged Baloch communities. As a single mother, she was also the sole caretaker of her four children.
Her tragic death is a harrowing symbol of the systemic violence, structural injustice, and lack of accountability that persist across Iran, particularly in marginalized regions where legal oversight, transparency, and human rights protections are largely absent.
Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, while extending her heartfelt condolences on the tragic and unjust death of Hassaniyeh Kalki to the people of Iranshahr, the Baloch compatriots, and to all teachers, educators, friends, and relatives of the victim, said: Hossniyeh’s heartbreaking murder at the hands of Khamenei’s agents is yet another grim testament to the brutality and savagery of the clerical regime—a regime that for 46 years has oppressed the people of Iran, especially the women and girls of our nation. However, such atrocities only strengthen the resolve of Iran’s brave women and youth to overthrow religious tyranny and to establish democracy, justice, and the sovereignty of the people.
