Political prisoner Fatemeh Tadrisi has gone on a hunger strike in protest to poor prison conditions and the denial of leave. She undertook this action to protest the violation of her rights, including being deprived of leave on bail.
The authorities at Fardis (Kachouii) Prison in Karaj have prevented her from being granted leave.
Arrest and Charges
Fatemeh Tadrisi, a teacher residing in Tehran, was arrested by security forces on May 9, 2023, during a teachers’ protest in Baharestan Square, Tehran, and was transferred to Qarchak Varamin Prison. After completing the interrogation process, she was transferred to Fardis (Kachouii) Prison in Karaj on August 28, 2023. Her charges include inciting and provoking people to warfare and massacre, propaganda against the regime, insulting Khamenei, and forming a group with the intention of disrupting national security.
Court Verdict
On January 3, 2024, Fatemeh Tadrisi was tried in the First Branch of the Revolutionary Court of Karaj and was sentenced to six years in prison and two years of exile to Zanjan.
