Political prisoner Fatemeh Mosanna has been hospitalized in dire health with her hands and feet cuffed to the bed.
Evin Prison authorities urgently transferred political prisoner Fatemeh Mosanna to Taleghani Hospital on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, due to severe intestinal bleeding. Security forces accompanying Ms. Mosanna in the hospital have cuffed her hands and feet to the bed, despite her dire condition.
Political prisoner Fatemeh Mosanna has been suffering from intestinal problems for a long time. Forensic physicians have confirmed that she cannot tolerate prison conditions and needs to undergo surgery. The stress harms her health and deteriorates her illness.
Evin Prison authorities, however, have not agreed to release her or at least grant her medical leave. Furthermore, they have hindered her treatment by not dispatching her to the hospital. The obstruction of her surgery has had an irreversible adverse impact on her health.
Now that Fatemeh Mosanna has been sent to the hospital after a long delay, prison security forces have tied her hands and feet to the bed and practically tortured her while she is very sick and in the hospital bed.
Political prisoner Fatemeh Mosanna must be released immediately and unconditionally, as she needs urgent medical treatment. She has a severe intestinal fever, and her intestines cannot absorb food. She is presently surviving on IV.
Fatemeh Mosanna, 53, the mother of two children, has been in prison for seven years.
The doctors’ diagnosis is that Fatemeh Mosanna should not be under stress, and she cannot bear the prison conditions. She has gone unconscious several times due to severe pain.
Fatemeh Mosanna and her husband, Hassan Sadeqi, were arrested on April 9, 2014, for holding a funeral ceremony for his father, deceased, on January 29, 2014, in Camp Liberty, Iraq, where PMOI members were held under siege.
The couple was later sentenced to 15 years in prison for having contact with the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran. The Iranian regime confiscated their house and shop in March 2019. The couple has been deprived of visits for a long time.
Fatemeh was a political prisoner in 1981 and was detained for two years when she was only 13. Three of her brothers were executed that year by the clerical regime.
