Reyhaneh and Ghazal Pakzad, two sisters from Zabul, were arrested on January 2 and 3, 2023, and were taken to an undisclosed location.
According to social media reports, on January 2, 2023, IRGC intelligence forces in Zahedan attacked Ms. Ghazal Pakzad’s residence and arrested her. Ghazal Pakzad is a 30-year-old clothing designer. She has been detained on charges of activity in cyberspace and publishing posts in support of the nationwide uprising of the Iranian people.
Also, Reyhaneh Pakzad, a Zahedan resident and a women’s swimming coach, was arrested at her home on January 3, 2023, by IRGC intelligence forces and taken to an unknown location. She is accused of “propaganda activity against the state in cyberspace,” and her Instagram page has also been banned.
The mother of Reyhaneh and Ghazal Pakzad has been hospitalized due to a lack of information and concern about her daughters’ conditions.
Preventing the temporary release of Sanaz Tafazzoli
The officials of the Central Prison of Mashhad, also known as Vakilabad, prevented the release of Ms. Sanaz Tafazzoli.
Mashhad Intelligence Department arrested Ms. Sanaz Tafazzoli on November 22, 2022, and after 35 days, she was transferred from the Intelligence Department to the Central Prison of Mashhad.
Ms. Tafazzoli’s charges have not yet been fully announced, but the case’s investigator has mentioned her charge as “propaganda against the state.”
Branch 903 of the court announced a heavy bail of ten billion tomans for the temporary release of Sanaz Tafazzoli.
On Tuesday, January 3, 2023, the court accepted the bail bond amounting to ten billion tomans and issued the release of Ms. Tafazzoli from Vakilabad prison in Mashhad. But after the family went to Vakilabad prison, the authorities refused to release her due to the objection of the investigator. At the same time, the bail was not returned, and the court confiscated it.
Faezeh Abdipour sentenced to 7 years in prison
The Gorgan Revolutionary Court sentenced student activist Faezeh Abdipour to 7 years in prison.
Faezeh Abdipour comes from Gachsaran and has graduated from Allameh Tabatabai University in Mazandaran. On November 22, 2022, the security forces arrested and took her under interrogation.
Faezedh Abdipour was transferred to Gorgan Prison after completing the interrogation period. After 45 days, she was released from Amin Abad Prison in Gorgan on 300 million tomans bail and 60 million tomans surety on January 5.
Ms. Abdipour’s sentence includes four years of imprisonment on charges of seduction and incitement to kill and war against national security, one year for propaganda against the state, two years for publishing lies, and two million tomans fine.
Ms. Abdipour’s husband, Mohammad Sharifi Moghaddam, is also serving his sentence in prison.
