Two young women attempted to enter the stadium of Tabriz on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, to watch the football game but were prevented by security forces.
The two young women wanted to watch the game between Iran’s Tractor Sazi and Alwasl of Oman, and in order to do so, they wore make-up and dressed like men. But they were identified by the State Security force at the entrance and not allowed to enter. (The state-run ISNA news agency – March 13, 2018)
Earlier on March 1, 2018, two young women who attempted to enter Tehran’s Azadi Stadium and watch the game between Iran’s top two teams, Esteghlal and Persepolis, were also arrested.
