A number of young men and women, students of Tehran’s Melli University (Beheshti), staged a protest gathering on Thursday, December 14, 2017, against the university’s collection of extra fees for make-up courses. The students including a significant number of women insisted to continue their protest until the university’s president responds to their demands.
The university witnessed a similar gathering on December 2, 2017.

We work extensively with Iranian women outside the country and maintain a permanent contact with women inside Iran. The Women’s Committee is actively involved with many women’s rights organizations and NGO’s and the Iranian diaspora.
The committee is a major source of much of the information received from inside Iran with regards to women. Attending UN Human Rights Council meetings and other international or regional conferences on women’s issues and engaging in a relentless battle against the Iranian regime’s misogyny are part of the activities of members and associates of the committee.
