On the 23rd day of her hunger strike, political prisoner Atena Daemi announced her determination to continue her protest until her demands are met.
In part of a letter from prison, she wrote, “There has been no reaction from the authorities in the 23 days that I have been on hunger strike. However, I am going to continue my strike despite my dire physical conditions.”
Atena Daemi began her hunger strike on April 8, 2017, in protest to the unjust prison sentences issued for her sisters.

We work extensively with Iranian women outside the country and maintain a permanent contact with women inside Iran. The Women’s Committee is actively involved with many women’s rights organizations and NGO’s and the Iranian diaspora.
The committee is a major source of much of the information received from inside Iran with regards to women. Attending UN Human Rights Council meetings and other international or regional conferences on women’s issues and engaging in a relentless battle against the Iranian regime’s misogyny are part of the activities of members and associates of the committee.
