The controversial representative of Khamenei in Mashhad underlined the need to impose further pressure on flight attendants to observe the veil, because the city is host to the Shrine of the 8th Shiite Imam.
Alam-ol Hoda, Khamenei’s representative in Razavi Khorasan Province, said, “Mashhad’s airport is especially important because it is the entry gate to the Shrine of the Imam Reza… First the flight attendants and then the passengers must observe the veil…
“I have repeatedly told the officials to be attentive to the veiling of the airport staff… The non-veiling of flight attendants is an issue that must be resolved and dealt with in practice!” (The state-run Asr-e Iran website – December 14, 2016)
