“Cheshmeh Shoor” is the name of a village located near the Holy City of Qom. The inhabitants of this village are deprived of piped water. Their needed water is provided by tankers.
Women are forced to bathe near the main entry to the village where the only well is located and people pass by.
Every week or every other week, women gather near the well’s output pipe and post a cover behind which they wash themselves.
Meanwhile, an elderly woman has lost half of her nose. She says, the condition has been caused by “contaminated water.” (State-run Fars news agency – July 22, 2016)
The people of Cheshmeh Shoor are living in such horrible conditions while the clerical regime spends massive assets and personnel to crack down on women across the country under the pretext of veil and virtue.
