As medical test results of imprisoned civil activist Atena Daemi in Evin Prison were announced, it has been announced that she is not suffering from MS. However, it is now known that her physical problems in prison are due to the stress and nervous pressures imposed on her.
Ms. Daemi’s fate remains in limbo and the date of her appeals court has yet be scheduled.
It is noteworthy that following the publication of her pictures on social media while being dispatched to a hospital, medical care for this civil activist came to a halt and security officials informed her family they are crossing a “red line, and this is why we are not allowing her be dispatched outside of prison.”
Daemi, 27, was arrested on October 21, 2014 and kept in solitary confinement and interrogation for 57 days. She has been charged with propaganda against the state, assembly and collusion against national security and insulting the leader, for which she was condemned to 14 years behind bars.
