On Wednesday, August 5, Majid Jafari Nadoushan, an investigating judge, accompanied by Sadeghian, Deputy Prosecutor of Yazd, visited the women’s ward of Yazd Central Prison and announced their intention to speak with prisoners held on security-related charges and women on death row.
According to reports, after entering the quarantine section of the women’s ward, where several women sentenced to death are being held, the two judicial officials directed threatening and insulting remarks at the prisoners.
Reports state that they told the women: “You have been sentenced to death. Your nature is like that of pigs, and you are filthy like pigs. We know that if you ever gain power, you will kill us. Therefore, we will kill you first so that you never gain power.”
Deteriorating Health Conditions Following the Threats
The psychological pressure resulting from these threats has led to a deterioration in the physical condition of several women prisoners.
According to available information, one prisoner who had previously suffered two strokes experienced a severe nervous episode and lost consciousness after the incident.
The condition of another prisoner has also been reported as critical.
As of the time of publication, no official explanation has been provided regarding the condition of the affected prisoners or the reason for the presence of the two judicial officials in the women’s ward of Yazd Central Prison.
Heightened Tensions and Security Measures in the Women’s Ward
Following the visit by the Judiciary officials, the atmosphere in the women’s ward has reportedly become highly tense and heavily securitized.
Prisoners held in the quarantine section, particularly women facing severe sentences or execution, are reportedly experiencing growing concern over the implementation of their sentences and increasing psychological pressure.
The verbal threats and degrading language used during the encounter have also had a significant impact on prisoners’ morale, contributing to heightened anxiety among those detained.
Parisa Kamali Summoned for Online Court Hearing
According to reports from Yazd Central Prison, political prisoner Parisa Kamali is facing a new legal proceeding following the release of an audio message from inside the prison.
Kamali was previously sentenced to three years and six months in prison on charges of “acting against national security,” “damaging public property,” and “membership in the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran.” She is serving her sentence in exile at Yazd Central Prison.
She has been summoned to appear before the Revolutionary Court via an online hearing on Monday, August 10, for questioning and judicial proceedings. She has reportedly been charged with “propaganda against the regime.”
The new case comes after the release of her recent audio message from prison, in which she condemned the continued executions and protested the suppression of demonstrators.
