Arghavan Fallahi, a 25-year-old political prisoner and supporter of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), has been sentenced to death. The verdict was formally conveyed through her lawyer and issued by Branch 15 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court on July 1, 2026.
Arghavan Fallahi was arrested for a second time in the city of Parand on January 25, 2025, and subsequently transferred to Ward 241 of Evin Prison. She spent approximately five months in solitary confinement, during which she was interrogated under physical and psychological torture.
Following the bombing and evacuation of Evin Prison, she was transferred to a solitary confinement cell in Fashafouyeh Prison, also known as Greater Tehran Penitentiary. She is currently being held in the women’s ward of Evin Prison.
Fallahi had previously been arrested along with her father and brother on November 4, 2022, in Shiraz. After enduring one year and four months in prison, Arghavan Fallahi was finally released on bail in March 2024.
The Iranian Resistance calls on the United Nations, relevant international bodies, and human rights organizations to take urgent action to save the life of Arghavan Fallahi and other prisoners sentenced to death. It also reiterates its call for an international fact-finding delegation to visit Iran’s prisons and meet with political prisoners.
