Pouran Najafi, ‌ a competent PMOI/MEK woman

February 10, 2022
in Videos

Our homeland, Iran, is a large and rich country with a rich and proud history and culture that can never be recognized by the dark rule of the mullahs.

Iran is known for its glorious resistance, which has grown against the inhuman and misogynistic regime of the mullahs and has a deeply humane message. Misogyny is the most basic feature of the religious dictatorship. The content of all the evaluations, laws and practices of the mullahs’ regime is that women are ‌ weak, ‌ and owned by others. They have no place in the leadership and management of society. She has to be in the corner of the house and her main job is babysitting and cooking. The Iranian regime believes that woman was created just for these purposes.

But in the history of the Iranian resistance for freedom and equality, the women members of the PMOI/MEK have revolted against religious fascism and its misogynistic laws and practices, defied this monster.

Pouran Najafi was also a competent PMOI/MEK woman, a mixture of resistance and love, and a heroic example of Iranian women in the history of resistance for the freedom of Iran and Iranians.

Pouran Najafi was born in 1963 in Rasht, the capital of Gilan Province, in northern Iran. After the anti-monarchical revolution in 1979, while a student at the Industrial Conservatory in the field of mechanics, she entered political activities at the age of 17. For 5 years, from August 1981 to 1986, Pouran experienced Khomeini’s medieval prisons.

After her release in 1986, she enthusiastically went to Ashraf and joined her fellow PMOI/MEK freedom-fighters.

This competent PMOI/MEK woman has left the memories of her imprisonment in a book called “Heroes and Heroines.”

Pouran Najafi had stepped in the struggle against dictatorship as a teenager to devote all her energy to the cause of liberation and happiness of Iranian women and children and the freedom of her people. During her quarter of a century at Ashraf and Liberty camps in Iraq, she was an example of elevation, strength, and self-confidence in the face of adversity that bends one’s stature. 10 years of perseverance in Ashraf and Liberty under severe blockades, could never erase the smile from her sincere and kind face.

Pouran Najafi was killed during one of the missile attacks on Camp Liberty by the Iranian regime’s mercenaries in Iraq, on February 9, 2013.

ABOUT US

NCRI Women Committee

We work extensively with Iranian women outside the country and maintain a permanent contact with women inside Iran. The Women’s Committee is actively involved with many women’s rights organizations and NGO’s and the Iranian diaspora.
The committee is a major source of much of the information received from inside Iran with regards to women. Attending UN Human Rights Council meetings and other international or regional conferences on women’s issues and engaging in a relentless battle against the Iranian regime’s misogyny are part of the activities of members and associates of the committee.
