Masoumeh Hafezi, a 48-year-old nurse and mother of two, was killed on January 10, 2026, during the nationwide protests in Zibashahr, Qazvin Province, after being shot directly by regime security forces.
Masoumeh was the head of her household. In addition to caring for her two children, she was also responsible for caring for her elderly parents.
Revolutionary Guards forces shot Masoumeh in the liver, causing her death. Following her killing, the regime exerted heavy pressure on her family to portray her as a regime-affiliated “martyr,” but they refused.
Masoumeh Hafezi was buried under heavy security measures, with only a limited number of relatives present.

Regime agents even prevented the mosque from being opened for a memorial ceremony. This was the same mosque to which Masoumeh had previously made a significant contribution.
According to reports circulated on social media, the condition of Masoumeh’s body was highly suspicious. Her abdomen had been completely opened and then sutured, while there were no signs of suturing or repair at the site of the bullet wound. This raised suspicions that her organs may have been removed without her family’s consent.
