Art student killed during the 2026 Iran Uprising
Robina Aminian, 22, an art student originally from Marivan and residing in Tehran, was shot dead on the evening of January 8, 2026, while leaving her university. She was targeted from close range and shot in the back, according to reports.
After traveling from Kermanshah to Tehran, her family encountered severe security obstacles in their efforts to identify and retrieve her daughter’s body. According to relatives, the facility where bodies were being held contained more than 100 corpses, mostly young people between 18 and 22 years old.
Ultimately, Robina Aminian’s family was forced to transfer her body unofficially. Upon returning, they faced the siege of their home and were prevented from holding a funeral ceremony. Under intense security pressure, the young student was eventually buried without any ceremony, along the road from Kermanshah to Kamyaran.
