Arezoo Jalilzadeh, a teacher from Sardasht, a city in West Azerbaijan province in Iran, was arrested by security forces and transferred to an undisclosed detention center in Urmia without a judicial warrant.
Four days after Arezoo Jalilzadeh’s arrest on Monday, March 3, her family remains completely in the dark regarding her whereabouts and condition. The lack of information about her situation has sparked growing concern over her safety and well-being.
As of now, no details have been released regarding the reasons for her arrest or any potential charges against her.
Maryam Derisi Returned to Adelabad Prison in Shiraz
Maryam Derisi, a political prisoner from Kazerun who had been serving her sentence under a semi-open prison system (open vote), was re-arrested on Saturday, March 1, after reporting to Adelabad Prison in Shiraz for administrative procedures. She was subsequently transferred back to the prison’s ward.
Ms. Derisi was arrested again on August 3, 2024, to serve her prison sentence in Adelabad. On January 8, 2025, her sentence was modified to open vote, allowing her to serve her term outside prison under electronic monitoring.

On March 3, 2024, Branch 102 of the Revolutionary Court of Kazerun sentenced her to one year in prison for “propaganda against the regime” through her Instagram posts and “removing her hijab” while under electronic surveillance. The Court of Appeals of Fars Province upheld this sentence.
Maryam Derisi, a master’s student at Saveh University and a resident of Kazerun, began serving her sentence on May 15, 2023. After about nine months, she was released under electronic surveillance on February 5, 2024, to serve the remainder of her sentence with restricted movement.
