Political prisoner Parisa Kamali is being denied access to essential medication at Dolatabad Prison in Isfahan, despite suffering from hyperthyroidism, which requires specific treatment.
Prison authorities have deliberately withheld her medication under various pretexts and refuse to provide her with the necessary drugs. Although she urgently needs a specialist, she has been denied transfer to a hospital or medical facility.
Parisa Kamali, born in 1986, is married and a geography student from Yazd. She was arrested in Isfahan on April 29, 2024, and subsequently transferred to Dolatabad Prison. After undergoing interrogation, she was tried and sentenced to six years in prison on charges of “destruction of public property,” “propaganda against the regime,” and “membership in the People’s Mojahedin Organization (MEK).” Her sentence was later reduced to three and a half years upon appeal.
Political prisoner Parisa Kamali also faces an unresolved case in a Yazd court, where her legal status remains uncertain.
