The robbing of three Baluch women by agents of the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) led to public outrage and protests in Zahedan, capital of Sistan and Baluchistan Province.
Three Baluch women were riding in a private taxi driven by two armed agents of the IRGC. The agents attempted to rob the women’s jewelry when one of the women threw herself out of the car and started crying out and seeking help.
Angry people blocked the road in Keshavarz Blvd. and surrounded the car. One of the IRGC agents got captured and angry people set fire to their car. This incident took place in Zahedan on March 24, 2021.
A Baluch man told the IRGC agents: This is the outcome of your aggression on women of Baluchistan. Another man said: We will overthrow the regime. All of us are Baluchis and all of Iran is a Sistan and Baluchistan Province. Death to Khamenei!!
The Iranian public are outraged by the crimes of the regime and its corrupt agents, particularly when it gets to women. They use any opportunity to raise their voice of protest against the regime.
Previously, the deprived women of Chabahar, also in Sistan and Baluchistan Province, held a protest against the destruction of their houses by the regime’s agents on October 31, 2020.
The Housing Foundation, the Municipality, and security forces launched a raid at 2 a.m. on October 30. They did not have any legal warrants for razing the residential houses in Golshahr district of Chabahar. The agents demolished some 10 houses where people lived in them. They destroyed all their furniture and belongings. Security forces used stun guns, pepper spray and batons to quell the protest and resistance by women and children residing in those houses.
An informed source said: “Security forces using bulldozers completely destroyed the houses with all the furniture inside. Then they flattened the ground by shoving the rubbles into the river. They did not even allow the residents to bring out their identity papers, their holy books and the Quran, and their gold and jewelry.”
