Disenchanted employees of the Environmental Protection Organization, headed by Massoumeh Ebtekar, gathered outside the main gate in Tehran’s Park Pardisan on Monday, October 26, 2015, to protest mismanagement of the country’s environment, overlooking of experts’
views as well as their own difficult financial and living conditions and the organization’s discrimination against rank and file as opposed to the managers and directors.
One of the protesters said, “(Massoumeh) Ebtekar gave an ultimatum two weeks ago warning employees to leave if they are discontented.”
He added, “All 800 experts and employees of this organization are discontented; unfortunately, however, they did not participate in the protest because they feared being expelled… We have started our protest gatherings since six months ago and issued a declaration including 21 paragraphs, none of which have been responded to.”
Protesting employees held a banner indicating their protest to the organization’s mismanagement of the national environment.
The Environmental Protection Organization is headed by Massoumeh Ebtekar, one of the three women assigned by Rouhani to non-minister positions in his cabinet.
