A group of women protesting the death sentence issued for political prisoner Mohammad Ali Taheri rallied outside Tehran’s prosecutor’s office on Sunday morning, August 16.
They raised placards written: “Release Mohammad Ali Taheri.”
Security forces and plainclothes agents resorted to force, used batons and tear gas, and also fired bird shots to disperse the crowd, eyewitnesses said. They arrested dozens of people during the protest, while a number of the protesters were
seriously wounded after the attack. The names of a number of women arrested at this rally are:
