According to the head of the Islamic Labor Council in Gilan (North), almost 60% of farming is carried out by women, however, they do not get social support. He referred to the regime’s anti-popular policies and said, “These workers prefer to forgo their legal rights in order to preserve their profits because if they receive insurance their daily expenses will increase by 100,000 rials.”

We work extensively with Iranian women outside the country and maintain a permanent contact with women inside Iran. The Women’s Committee is actively involved with many women’s rights organizations and NGO’s and the Iranian diaspora.
The committee is a major source of much of the information received from inside Iran with regards to women. Attending UN Human Rights Council meetings and other international or regional conferences on women’s issues and engaging in a relentless battle against the Iranian regime’s misogyny are part of the activities of members and associates of the committee.
