Samin Rostami was killed during the nationwide protests on January 8, 2026, in the Mehrshahr area of Karaj. She stepped forward to assist a young woman who was being violently beaten by security forces. In doing so, she was shot from behind by regime agents. The bullet struck her spleen.
When Rostami’s sisters arrived at the scene where she had been wounded, they were brutally assaulted. Members of the Revolutionary Guard broke their hands and attacked their faces using brass knuckles.
Her body was returned to her family four days later.
Samin Rostami, 42, was a nurse at Aram Hospital in Karaj and the mother of two sons.
