Naghmeh Rajabi: The future of Iran will be determined by its people and organized resistance

February 10, 2026
in Solidarity

On Saturday, February 7, 2026, on the anniversary of the Iranian people’s anti-monarchical revolution, the city of Berlin witnessed a massive march by freedom-loving Iranians.

Despite the bitter cold and harsh weather conditions, tens of thousands of Iranians took to the streets, carrying a large banner bearing the images of the victims slain during the nationwide uprising, once again renewing their pledge to the ideal of freedom.

This magnificent gathering, marked by resolute slogans such as “No Shah No Mullahs” and “Death to the oppressor, be it the Shah or the (mullahs’) Leader,” sent a powerful message to the world about the Iranian people’s national will to establish a popular and democratic republic in Iran.

At this rally, Naghmeh Rajabi, one of the members of the delegation of representatives of Iranian communities, delivered a speech.

Naghmeh Rajabi: The future of Iran will be determined by its people and organized resistance

Naghmeh Rajabi: We echo the voices of people in the street, not censored media narratives

With salutations to the souls of those who lost their lives during the uprising and to their honorable and grieving families.
Today, on the anniversary of (the 1979 Revolution on) February 11, we have gathered here; the day when the freedom-seeking people of Iran rose up against oppression and corruption and forever expelled the dictator Shah and his repressive apparatus, SAVAK, from the stage of history.

Today is the continuation of that same revolution, for freedom and for a democratic republic. A republic that serves the people, not one that merely replaces the crown with a turban.

The freedom of Iran will not be achieved through foreign intervention, nor through appeasement of criminals.
Iran’s freedom requires organization, resistance, and self-sacrifice, just as the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) has, over the past 47 years, sacrificed one hundred thousand of its members and supporters for the liberation of this homeland.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi has emphasized that merely designating the IRGC is not enough. Our demand is the recognition of the Iranian people’s legitimate right to self-defense, and of the Resistance Units against the Revolutionary Guard Corps and all other repressive forces of the regime.
Our demand is the closure of the regime’s embassies and the expulsion of its terrorist diplomats from countries around the world.

Yet today there are also those who say: You fight, you give your life, and we will guide you from afar.

Our response is clear: Never. Never.
It is the people of Iran who own this uprising, not cost-free claimants sitting comfortably behind desks.

And let us say it plainly: the thuggish culture and intimidation tactics of supporters of the fascistic monarchist current in cities across Europe and the US are an exact replica of the brutal repression carried out by the IRGC against our youth inside Iran.

Naghmeh Rajabi: The future of Iran will be determined by its people and organized resistance

Our words are the words of the people on the streets, not of censoring and corrupt media outlets that seek to impose false narratives on the public.

The message of the Iranian people is clear. They shout:
“Death to the oppressor, be it the Shah or the (mullahs’) Leader.”

This means the rejection of all forms of dictatorship. It means freedom. It means a democratic republic. It means popular sovereignty. This voice cannot be silenced. This uprising will not be stopped.
And the future of Iran will be built by the Iranian people and their organized resistance.

We fight. We resist. We will take Iran back.

Salutations to all of you.

ABOUT US

NCRI Women Committee

We work extensively with Iranian women outside the country and maintain a permanent contact with women inside Iran. The Women’s Committee is actively involved with many women’s rights organizations and NGO’s and the Iranian diaspora.
The committee is a major source of much of the information received from inside Iran with regards to women. Attending UN Human Rights Council meetings and other international or regional conferences on women’s issues and engaging in a relentless battle against the Iranian regime’s misogyny are part of the activities of members and associates of the committee.
