In the latest cases, Faezeh Salehabadi has been sentenced to prison, Hanieh Sarborzi has remained in legal limbo for more than 40 days, and Kobra Narouei has been arrested along with her one-year-old child and transferred to an undisclosed location.
Faezeh Salehabadi Sentenced to One Year and Three Months in Prison
Faezeh Salehabadi, a female prisoner held in Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad, has been sentenced by the Revolutionary Court of Mashhad to one year and three months in prison.
Her release has been made conditional on bail set at four billion tomans. However, her family has so far been unable to secure the required amount.
The judicial case against Salehabadi was initiated over an Instagram story she posted. She was arrested by security forces at her home on February 9, 2026.
Hanieh Sarborzi Held in Legal Limbo for More Than 40 Days
More than 40 days have passed since the arrest of Hanieh Sarborzi, a 30-year-old woman from Mashhad. She was detained in connection with cases related to the January 2026 protests and is currently being held in Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad.
Hanieh Sarborzi, who is the mother of a young child, has been denied telephone contact and family visits since her arrest.
The primary charge brought against her is Baghy-e (armed rebellion), one of the most serious criminal charges under the clerical regime’s law. The charge can carry severe penalties, including the death sentence.
Kobra Narouei Arrested with Her One-Year-Old Child
On June 20, 2026, Kobra Narouei, 37, and her one-year-old child, Saman Narouei, were arrested after government security forces raided their home in the village of Heydarabad, in Rudbar-e Jonub County, Kerman Province. They were subsequently transferred to an undisclosed location.
The arrest took place after her husband, Mahmoud Narouei, was not found at the residence. The wife and child have been taken hostage in an attempt to force him to turn himself in.
