On Tuesday, February 3, 2026, medical students at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences continued their protest sit-in for a fourth consecutive day, despite a heavy security presence and extensive monitoring by university security forces.
Commemorating the victims of the nationwide protests, the students demanded the release of detained physicians and healthcare workers who, they say, are being prosecuted for fulfilling their humanitarian duties.
Chants heard during the gatherings by medical students in Shiraz included “Imprisoned students must be freed,” “Honorable doctors must be freed,” “A student may die, but will not accept humiliation,” and “By the blood of our fallen comrades, we will stand until the end.”
These slogans underscored the growing convergence between student demands, the broader justice-seeking movement, and ongoing popular protests across Iran.

On the same day, a group of dental students at the Faculty of Dentistry of Tabriz University held a protest gathering and sit-in to voice their opposition to the repression and arrest of student protesters.
During the protest, students also organized a memorial ceremony to honor those who lost their lives in the nationwide protests in January 2026 and called for the immediate release of detained students, including those from Tabriz University. The sit-in followed an earlier protest held at the same faculty on Sunday, February 1, during which students raised identical demands.

Medical Students at Azad University of Mashhad also held a protest rally on Tuesday, February 3, demanding justice for their classmates who were killed by security forces during the nationwide protests of January 2026.
