In the early hours of Wednesday, December 3, 2025, a female inmate was hanging in Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad.
She had previously been sentenced to death on charges related to drug offenses.
Despite the execution taking place, her identity has not been disclosed as of this report, and officials from Vakilabad Prison and judicial authorities have yet to publicly confirm the execution.

Those responsible not only face no punishment but enjoy lives of extreme luxury, while vulnerable individuals such as this woman, driven by extreme poverty and unemployment, are sentenced to death and executed.
Iran, the world record holder in executing women
With the execution of this female prisoner in Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad, the number of women executed in Iran since the beginning of 2025 has reached 56, marking an unprecedented record in the execution of women in Iran.
In the entire 2024, 34 women were executed across the country.
According to data recorded by the Women’s Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, at least 319 women have been executed in Iran since 2007.
In the Iranian calendar Year 1403, at least 38 women were executed in Iran, marking a disturbing 90% increase compared to the previous year.
Since Masoud Pezeshkian took office, the clerical regime has executed more than 2,570 prisoners.
Silence and inaction in the face of the murderers of the Iranian people fuel terrorism, suppression, and warmongering. The regime of execution and terror must be shunned by the international community, and its dossier of human rights violations must be referred to the United Nations Security Council.
