New Year message of Gianna Gancia, MEP, to the Iranian people and Resistance
Video message of Mrs. Gianna Gancia, member of the European Parliament from Italy, on the advent of the Persian New Year 1400 to the Iranian people and Resistance:
I would like to wish you a Happy Persian New Year.
First, I send a special salute to my friends, members of the Iranian Resistance in Ashraf 3. You have been working to realize the spring of change for your nation and just as you proved in the 14 years that you were in Ashraf and Liberty, you can overcome all the obstacles. Today, your goal is to move forward towards a free Iran and I am proud that I was with you from when you were in Ashraf and am with you here today.
I have been working on the cause for a free Iran for many years. I have tried to do whatever was in my capacity to shed light on the Iranian regime’s crimes but also to defend the just cause of the main Iranian opposition movement. I believe in your fight and will continue to defend your cause.
To the people of Iran, to the new generation defying the regime, we in the European Parliament, are your voice. We hear you and we see your courage.
To the mothers of those killed in Iran protests and political prisoners, you are an inspiration. You can count on us as long as we are here, we will not allow the policy of appeasing with the regime to silence you and ignore your sacrifices.
But on this New Year, I also salute Mrs. Rajavi, a brave woman who has led this struggle tirelessly. Although times have been tough, we have had many significant victories. The conviction of the regime’s terrorist diplomat in the Belgian Court was actually the conviction of the entire regime of terror but we need to continue until we see complete change in Iran.
I am confident that next year, we will celebrate in your beautiful country.
