New Year message of Rasa JUKNEVIČIENĖ, MEP, to the Iranian people and Resistance
Ms. Rasa JUKNEVIČIENĖ, member of the European Parliament from Lithuania, sent a video message to the Iranian people and Resistance on the advent of the Persian New Year 1400.
Ms. JUKNEVIČIENĖ was Lithuania’s Minister of Defense from 2008-2012, and headed the Parliamentary Assembly of NATO in 2018.
Text of the message follows:
I didn’t want to miss this opportunity to take this time to send you my message of hope, strength on this important occasion, the coming of spring and celebration of the Iranian New Year.
This age of the celebration that represents the fight to end the cold winter for the coming of the beautiful spring is also the story of Iran and bring freedom and happiness to the hearts of your people.
Nowruz brings prosperity, hope and new dawn which I am sure for you, the people of Iran, is what you have been envisioning for the past 40 years.
However, I am confident that spring of freedom will soon rise over Iran.
Be assured all nations who have resisted the darkness including my old nation have overcome and history have proven those who resist will eventually win.
Dear friends, be assured you have my voice and support in the European Parliament and I am confident that the people of Iran especially the courageous women know this.
