A new wave of protests has erupted in Iran since Saturday, January 11, 2020, in the wake of the downing of a passenger airliner by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) which killed 176 passengers and crew on Wednesday, January 8, 2020.
Thousands of Iranian people and students have taken to the streets in dozens of cities across Iran, chanting slogans against the mullahs’ supreme leader Ali Khamenei, blaming him for the murder of the innocent passengers of the Ukrainian airliner as well as 1,500 protesters in November.
The Iranian regime has accepted the responsibility of shooting down the Ukrainian aircraft due to human error, a few hours after their retaliatory attack on Ain-ol Assad base housing U.S. troops in Iraq revenging the U.S. assassination of the regime’s No. 2 man, Qasem Soleimani.
Qasem Soleimani was the head of the Quds Force, an elite unit responsible for the Iranian military’s foreign operations, and an architect of Iran’s proxy wars in the Middle East.
He was assassinated in a U.S. air strike at Baghdad International Airport on January 3, 2020.
Soleimani was a terror master whose reach spread across the world in Syria, Iraq and had strong ties with Lebanon’s Hezbollah.
The death and destruction in Syria and Iraq, daily terrorist bombings with high casualties, bombing of the shrines of Shiite Imams in Samarra, meddling in Lebanon through Iran-backed militia, the war in Yemen, and hundreds of terrorist operations by the Quds Force across the world were planned and directed by Qasem Soleimani.
Qasem Soleimani was responsible for more than 90 terrorist crimes against the PMOI/MEK, including the massacre in Ashraf on September 1, 2013, missile attacks on camps Ashraf and Liberty, and killing Ashraf residents by striking them with axes, running them over by Humvees, and shooting at them directly.
The Iranian regime was planning attacks on U.S. centers in Iraq to divert attention from popular protests in Iran and Iraq.
