Female student activist, Sepideh Farhan (Farahabadi) was sentenced to 6 years in prison and 74 lashes by Branch 36 of Tehran’s Court of Appeal.
Sepideh Farhan was summoned to the Tehran court on Monday, July 24, 2019, and her sentence was read to her. Sepideh Farhan was accused of “disrupting public order through participation in illegal gatherings and association and collusion to act against national security” because she participated in the student protests in January 2018.

Parvin Nokhostin, a female civil activist has been summoned to the Ministry of Intelligence on July 24, 2019, with no explanation. Parvin Nokhostin was active in the field of rights for identities of children without birth certificates. She delivered a speech at the International Women’s Day at a ceremony organized by the Association of Neday-e Zanan-e Iran.
Earlier, Maryam Mohammadi, a women’s rights activist and member of the Association of Neday-e Zanan-e Iran, was arrested at her home on Monday, July 8, 2019, by Ministry of Intelligence agents. There is no news on where she is being held. Previously, two other members of the association, Akram Nasirian, and Nahid Shaqaqi were also arrested.

On Thursday, July 25, 2019, the parents of labor activist Anisha Assadollahi who was arrested on the International Labor Day, visited her for the first time after 38 days. Ali Assadollahi, Anisha’s brother, wrote on Twitter that today, my mother and father finally met with Anisha for the first time. She was strong. She constantly insisted that she had not committed a crime and was arrested unjustly.

Neda Naji, another female activist arrested on the International Labor Day, went on a visitation strike starting on July 24, 2019, in Qarchak Prison. Neda Naji, by writing a letter to the head of Qarchak Prison of Varamin, announced that she would not meet with her family until the implementation of the law on the separation of crimes and her transfer to Evin Prison. She also announced that she had protested against the behavior of prison personnel with other families of political prisoners who had come to visit in Qarchak Prison. She is detained at the Qarchak prison in Varamin.

In another case, Kurdish civil activist and director of Nojin Social and Cultural Association, Zahra Mohammadi, 27, who was arrested on May 23, 2019, is still being held in Sanandaj Prison in undetermined conditions without access to a lawyer.
