Students of the Medical Sciences University of Shahr-e Kord, south central Iran, in a gathering on Sunday, October 8, 2017, protested the death of a girl student demanding resignation of the university’s director.
They chanted, “Incompetent president, resign, resign”, “Everyone is a Zohreh, there is no difference”, and “Who would be the next victim?”
In complicity with the university officials, the Coroner’s Office also falsely announced that the reason for Zohreh Ghasemi’s death was a stroke while she had been suffocated by gas leakage while taking a bath.
The State Security Forces intervened and terrorized the students to disperse their protest gathering.
