Touran Mirhadi, founder of the Council of Books and a pioneer in children’s literature in Iran, passed away on November 8, 2016, at the age of 89.
Earlier, she had suffered a brain stroke and was transferred to a hospital in Tehran.
Touran Mirhadi had studied psychology and preschool education from French universities. She was fluent in French, German and English.
She founded the “Farhad” kindergarten, elementary and high schools. She was famous as the Mother of Children and Youngsters’ Literature.
