The wife of a well-known labor activist, Mahmoud Salehi, is under prosecution.
Najibeh Salehzadeh was charged with “spreading propaganda against the regime” and “insulting the Supreme Leader” by the Justice Department of the western Iranian city of Saqqez.
She explained, “After being summoned, I referred to Branch 2 of the Prosecutor’s Office in Saqqez on June 6, 2016. I was told that I had spread propaganda against the Islamic Republic on the Facebook while visiting France. This is while I have no Facebook account and I was accompanying my husband to France who had been invited by a large labor syndicate in Europe. Our trip was absolutely legal and with credible passports.”
