A group of 32 men and women on tour in Nayeen (central Isfahan Province) were stopped by traffic police because they were travelling together in the same bus. The tourists were not allowed to enter the town.
According to the bus driver, 80 percent of his passengers were couples and families who had left Tehran to visit Isfahan. The passengers were kept in the cold for six hours for interrogation.
There were reports earlier this month that another tourist site by the name of Maranjab desert had also become forbidden to mixed-sex tours.
