The anniversary of the criminal execution of Reyhaneh Jabbari was held by her mother and family at Tehran’s Behesht-e Zahra Cemetery on Sunday, October 25.
A number of mothers whose children suffered the same fate on political grounds were also attended this ceremony to
express their solidarity and sympathy.
Mrs. Sholeh Pakravan, Reyhaneh’s mother declare, “No one is supposed to take away our wealth, or our job, or anything else… Our most precious thing in life, part of our soul and heart has been taken away. No only these mothers, but there are hundreds and hundreds more all across the country who are like us.”
Mrs. Gohar Eshghi, the elderly mother of the slain web blogger Sattar Beheshti who was killed under torture in prison, cried out, “I will not sit still. He was everything for me. As long as I am alive, I stand by my son. I am not afraid… Don’t you ever think that Sattar’s mother is afraid of anyone.”
